As architects, designers, planners and consultants, Gensler partners with their clients on some 3,000 projects every year. These projects can be as small as a wine label or as large as a new urban district. With more than 2,500 professionals networked across 38 locations, they serve their clients as trusted advisors, combining localized expertise with global perspective wherever new opportunities arise.

2012 Industry Outlook
In a recent
World Architecture editorial, David Gensler, Executive Director of Gensler, said:
2011 has been a very good year for Gensler. We’ve come out of the economic downturn strong. Our business has not only stabilized, it’s thrived. In fact, we’ve returned to growth and have opened several new offices around the world, including Sao Paulo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Qatar, and have substantially grown our headcount.
Gensler, like other design firms, is focusing on high-growth markets overseas, including China, India and the Gulf States. However, unlike some of our peers, we’ve been operating in those markets for years, so we already have a very strong client base and talent pool to build upon. In terms of industry sectors, we’re seeing a lot of opportunity in sports, education and aviation and have already begun to experience a return on our investment in those areas.
Gensler is looking forward to an exciting 2012. We want to grow our more than 2,000 client relationships and expect to sustain our growth by continuing to bring real economic, environmental and social value to each and every client. In the future, we want to challenge the traditional architecture firm paradigm by building capability closer to our clients, rather than bringing opportunity from emerging markets to our existing offices.
